Two stages of heat, a smart choice all around
While most furnaces are either off or on, the EL296V can create heat at two different levels. This allows it to find a smart balance between energy use and comfortable warmth.
Warmth in abundance, fuel in moderation
With
an efficiency rating of up to 96% AFUE, the EL296V can potentially save you hundreds of dollars per
year in energy costs.
Increases efficiency, even in summer months
During the summer, the EL296V’s variable-speed motor can increase the efficiency of your outdoor cooling unit. For maximum energy savings year-round, the EL296V can be paired with a Lennox® heat pump in a dual-fuel system.
“My first winter electric bill was $265.00 less than the same time last year.”

EL296V High-Efficiency, Two-Stage Gas Furnace
Works Well & is Quiet
November 12, 2023Our old single stage Bryant Furnace served us well but was 21 years old and although working had needed a few new parts over the last couple of years and as we live in Canada it was getting to the point where I though it would be prudent to replace it before it finally gave up the ghost. I had planned on replacing it in Spring 2024 together with the a/c unit but a special deal though Costco was the incentive I needed do do it now rather than wait. Install was done through Enercare and Costco vetted sub-contractors who did an excellent install job. I don't know what happened for people writing reviews on here who say this furnace is noisy but ours is significantly quieter that our previous furnace that itself was not that noisy. Obviously with the work having just been done I cannot speak to the long term reliability of the equipment but so far so good. Ours is controlled via an Ecobee Smart Premium Theromostat and overall I could not be happier. The deal I got through Costco included a 10 year parts AND labour warranty so better than the standard Lennox Warranty. The standard total quoted price was about right and with $1700 back in Costco Shop vouchers it was a pretty good deal overall.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Very Pleased
April 28, 2022We had the Lennox Elite Series EL296V, 2-stage, variable speed, high efficiency gas furnace installed 3 weeks ago. This unit is much more quiet than the 20 year old Rheem 90 series that it replaced. It took approximately one week for the "new burner" smell to go away. We also replaced our old manual thermostat with an EcoBee Smart Thermostat with Voice Control and we are very pleased with that as well. It was a difficult decision replacing our 20 year old furnace that has been working quite well but we felt that it's better to be proactive than reactive (we learned that lesson with our hot water heater). Overall, we are very pleased with our new high efficiency Lennox furnace and have no regrets.
Yes, I recommend this product.
